At six months, babies typically start to respond to their own names, recognize their native language, and use their tone of voice to express happiness or distress. By nine months, they can understand basic words like “no” and “bye-bye,” though their physical development still limits their ability to speak. However, they can begin to communicate using their hands. This is why FasTrack Signing is so beneficial.
FasTrack Signing is a parent-focused program where parents and infants meet once a week to learn effective communication techniques. This supportive community is a joyful space for learning and growth. In the weekly one-hour FasTrack Signing class, children expand their vocabulary through engaging songs, movement, and creative play. Parents join fellow adults to master effective techniques for communicating with their babies.
Our research shows that when children are ready to speak, they will start speaking with more words than a child that hasn’t attended the FasTrack Signing class. Beyond the research, the close connection that is created between the parent and their child is immeasurable.
